New Orleans, Louisiana Wedding || Jewel + Matt

Jewel and Matt were both such a joy to get to know and serve! I knew from their engagement session that their wedding day would be a blast because the first thing they agreed to do for their photos was to stand in a field of wild flowers (aaand maybe some weeds) that were about 3 feet high. And my typical Grace Photography bride is kind, fun, and free spirited. Jewel is all of those things, but she definitely raised the bar because she was willing to pop out from behind some window curtains for her first look with her bridesmaids and family! ha! Both Jewel and Matt are also crazy smart, as Matt is an engineer and Jewel is pursuing both an MD AND a PhD at the same time. They are both so personable and kind, so they are pretty much the total package you guys.

Their wedding day was a fun adventure, as they got ready in the same hotel right next to their absolutely incredible site for their first look. We got to do their first look in the gardens of the Old Ursuline Convent, and let me tell you, I’ve been looking forward to this ever since they booked last May! It was such a beautifully bright day, and Jewel’s whimsical lace and beaded wedding dress was perfect for the gardens! Matt was so dapper in his tux. They definitely seemed made for this spot! After the first look, they had a beautiful ceremony at St. Mary’s church right next door. It had so much old world charm and the ceiling above the sanctuary even matched Jewel’s bridesmaids dresses! Jewel and Matt were greeted with olive leaves being thrown at them after their ceremony to celebrate and then they headed to Jewel’s sisters house for an intimate reception. I couldn’t be more excited for the incredible future these two have together and I am so honored to have gotten to capture their stunning day!
