Claire + Josh || Biloxi, MS Wedding

I think I’m a little bit of a weirdo because whenever someone hires me and tells me, “we are really bad at photos,” I instantly get a little more excited about capturing them. Somehow those are the magic words for the people I most enjoy capturing. Weird, huh?! Claire and Josh are my dream couple: down to earth, super kind, mellow…but with a side to them you don’t always expect (thinking about Josh’s amazing dance moves that totally surprised me). They are relaxing together on the beach as we speak, which they share a mutual love for, so I’m hoping this blog post is a fun surprise while they are on their honeymoon! Their story is too good not to share, so I’ll let Claire share it in her own words…

How did you meet?

Josh and I met in high school! We both attended St. Patrick Catholic High School in Biloxi. I joined the swim team in 8th grade, and Josh joined too! His brother was on the team and his mom made him and his youngest brother go and support, so he figured he might as well just go ahead and join. We quickly became close friends and started "dating" when I was in 9th grade and he was in 10th! We have been together since then.

Tell me as much as you want about the proposal!

Josh proposed on the Schooner sailboat in Biloxi. It was the most beautiful day!!! I had NO idea it was happening! I came sweaty and dirty from hanging Christmas decorations on the outside of my house. Both of our families were on the boat with us. I was told that we were going because his grandfather won a free trip! I believed every second of the plan they had made. It must have been super hard for my family to keep the secret because I usually find out everything! After we got out a good ways, they stopped the motor and lifted the sails. Josh proposed then and then we just hung out with our families on the boat and had a glass of champage. It was perfect! When I got back to the pier, he had pulled off another surprise! All of our friends, family, and our close famliy friends were hiding in a room off the pier. It was the best day!
